A step above the average film novelization. The cast was A-list late-70s in the leading roles. Perhaps not, but the suspense was kept up, one could not be certain who would survive, if any, and Burt Lancaster’s role of a cog in the military machine following orders was very much to the point. While not up to the stature of Man In The Wilderness, Man Called Horse, Oliver Cromwell and other great movies by Richard Harris, it should be a must have for Richard Harris fans. Please try again.
While it isn't any more profound than contemporaries like THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE or THE TOWERING INFERNO, it is made with so much panache the silly proceedings are almost compelling.
