I understand it's a natural area and they cannot control the moisture in the caves, but I would have GREATLY appreciated being told before going in that there was a lot of water on the ground and falling from the roof especially as she would have seen the camera around my neck, I would have not taken my good camera and would have worn water proof shoes!We should have been warned before paying that they were having lighting difficulties as we paid to see a cave and instead got to walk through a dark small cramped area seeing nothing!So disappointed, no good photos & freezing cold wet feet. The jillabeena Cave was short but pretty while I found the Jersey Cave more interesting and longer. The road is steep, very narrow and gravel with some parts being dirt/clay mud.

In my opinion they should leave the lights on longer, it was like the cave itself was pushing us forward, but nothing uncomfortable.

I would recommend two days if one wants to do everything though I arrived at 9.30 am and left footsore at about 4.00pm and missed the river walk. The caves are in a karst region of the Snowy Mountains, and several are open to the public as show caves. We were surprised to see the display of lights set by movement sensors so it was nice to see the important parts illuminated as you walked by. All this time I was standing there with my $2000+ canon camera around my neck. My feet were soaked, so was my clothes & the lights stopped working around about half way up.
There is only one option in the guided tours for small children that need to be carried, so if you want to do this ring ahead and check tour times.
